The exaggerated vertical wall of the lid makes this a one of a kind piece in my collection. I love giving the lid more prominence but in a way that mirrors the rest of the vessel. I may be continuing this form going forward.

Food-safe glaze

Hand wash only

I use food-safe glazes and fire to cone 6. While pieces should be dishwasher safe, over time, the harsh detergents and high heat of a dishwasher can etch the glaze surface, making it dull or rough. This wear and tear can lead to crazing—tiny, microscopic cracks forming in the glaze. While the clay underneath remains solid, these minute cracks can trap moisture, food particles, and bacteria that are difficult to wash out, ultimately compromising the food safety of the piece. To keep your ceramics beautiful and hygienic for years to come, hand-washing is always recommended.
