A slightly angled handle makes this one a quirky little mug, like the slightly smaller one Heavy on the Cream Mug 1.

This piece was thrown with Standard Clay 266 at my home studio in Raleigh, NC.

I use food-safe glazes and fire to cone 6. While pieces should be dishwasher safe, over time, the harsh detergents and high heat of a dishwasher can etch the glaze surface, making it dull or rough. This wear and tear can lead to crazing—tiny, microscopic cracks forming in the glaze. While the clay underneath remains solid, these minute cracks can trap moisture, food particles, and bacteria that are difficult to wash out, ultimately compromising the food safety of the piece. To keep your ceramics beautiful and hygienic for years to come, hand-washing is always recommended.
