Ceramic Spoons from Molds
While I’ve been browsing Pinterest for spoon rest ideas, I’ve come across ceramic spoons and a blog by Jeanette Zeis on how to make them. I have these three little wood spoons that came with a cutting board, so I used them to make molds.
I’ve since put together two posts on how to make spoons:

oh man, you should make dessert plates with the lace and with ferns, herbs, etc pressed into them. they could layer with pretty much any dinner plate! excited to see the spoons!

I haven't tried a texture collage yet. One thing at a time or I may explode.

How did you glaze the spoons? Is the whole underside not glazed or what? I have wanted to make spoons before, but I am unsure how I would glaze them to make it work the best.

I've mainly used the straight line stilts but have also tried the three pronged ones under the bowl of the spoon. I probably fire at cone 4 or 5 and haven't had too much trouble with slumping, although someone once told me that at cone 6 their spoons would bend in the middle. You could add an extra stilt to support the middle. http://www.bigceramicstore.com/kilns/kiln-furniture/stilts.html

Thank you kindly for taking the time to do this.
It is so helpful.

Have you tried putting holes in your smaller spoons and putting them on your bead tree? Would the wire support them?
Paige Puckett
I have not, and they are too tall for my bead tree.

Do you glaze the entire bottom of the desert plates?
Paige Puckett
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If I do, I use kiln stilts to prop up the plate and keep it from sticking to the kiln shelf. I also make sure the glaze isn't so thick that it will drip.
