Lava Hot Springs and Sunken Gardens
Lava Hot Springs was not on our initial itinerary, but when we realized that the entirety of Salt Lake City was booked for the first night of our vacation (thanks so much Young Living ladies for filling up the plane cabin with wafts of oils at every spot of turbulence), I used Google maps to zoom in on various towns looking for spots to stay in route to the Tetons. As the road zigzagged through Idaho, this little town caught my eye. Tubing? Check. Natural hot springs? Check. Affordable rooms? Check. Family Trip Out West Summer 2018
Be forewarned, I spent a week in the Tetons and Yellowstone national parks with my family, and there are several posts about this trip to come! There are over a thousand photos to sort through, so I will do it one location and adventure at a time, which will help me relive the trip and remember some of the names of the spots we photographed. Joe came home around 12:20 pm, and by then I had packed the kids clothes and food. I picked the kids up early from school at 1:10 while Joe pulled the gear out of the closet, and we pulled…

Grayson Highlands
We’ve returned from our Labor Day (Weekend) trip to Virginia, and once again I’ve taken far more pictures of wildlife than my family. The “wild” ponies were exciting for the kids, and we loved our hike in Grayson Highlands. I did get plenty of cute shots of the boys, but I’ll save those for the family. The first day we hiked, it was foggy and chilly, but two days later it was hot and clear. The ponies had moved from grazing in an open clearing to the bottom of the hill in a grove of trees. Of course, we hiked back to the top of their usual area before a…
