Watching Clouds
I dare you to pick a spot on the pavement, twist and wiggle your back until you feel those vertebrate pop and relax, let the cool seep in through your shirt, and just watch the clouds. Today, as we waiting for some friends to come play, the boys took their bikes down the the street while I, adorned in a fresh mist of deet and oversized shades, did just this. The front of my house is shaded and cool in…

Watching Hummingbirds
We may think it is the fancy toys, exciting play dates, overpriced kids museums that our kids are craving, but really, I think what our kids truly long for is just a moment with us. They are such curious birds and are perfect for a curious…

Treehouse on a Low Budget
For months now, Scooby has been talking about building a tree house. We’ve had a tree picked out for a year, but no funds to build it. Whenever deep(er) thoughts start to creep up, they are usually interrupted by little gremlins disguised…

Weekend fun
Peaches, pottery, gardening, shopping, playing, Olympics, snuggles – that about sums up the weekend, which started with a family outing to First Friday at Vintage21. We didn’t stay long at the concert/peach fest, because as I told Wookie. “That is no way to behave at an art show!” He was super excited to be out in public and was a little bit loud, so we listened to a few songs, partook in the peaches and beverages, and then Joe let…

Fourth of July!
Happy Fourth of July, friends! Today we have two things to celebrate. First, we got rain! Hooray! Wookie and I were outside poking around in the garden when the drops began to fall. We sat on the deck under the overhang of the roof to watch it come down. Second, Joe and I have been married eight years today! We’d really like to thank you all for commemorating our anniversary by lighting fireworks every year in our honor. We are…
