• January Garden

Looking back at old January blog posts, I see that the end of the month is when I start my usual garden prep and seed starting posts. Earlier in the week I received a media kit from Renee’s Garden so that I could select sample packets to try and then share with my readers. Other companies’ reminders are showing up in the inbox, which means I need to go ahead and put in requests for some gorgeous heirloom seed catalogs.…

  • Attainable Goals for 2013

Before laying out goals for 2013, I peeked pack to last year’s post. I had three goals: Have a table at a craft or pottery show away from home.  I failed this one. I didn’t travel outside of RDU, but I at least participated in a show I had not done before at Wake Crossroads Fellowship. That’s the last straw. There’s still a good chance my kids will be be going to public school, but this was my initial reaction. Draw the chicks in closer to the nest and not let…

  • Kiln Opening 12-5-12

This week was my most favorite kiln opening ever. The entire set was hand built, other than a few wheel pieces that didn’t fit in the last firing, so it was chock full of texture personality. The pistachio and espresso shino glazes I ordered from Aftosa arrived just in time, and now I’m plotting how I can get my hands on a larger quantity of them at a reasonable price. The pistachio was similar to the sea foam glaze I’ve…
